Home People Residents Charity Secretary

Charity Secretary

May 1928

Mexborough and Swinton Times, May 25, 1928

For secretaries of charity organisations life these days is one difficulty after another. There are few people in the town who do not feel that the community owes a debt of gratitude to Mr Seth Ibbeson for the time and energy he has devoted to the old folk’s cause.

Like nest of us in this workaday town, Mr. Ibbeson, finds it his first duty in life to get ‘a living, but there ..must have been times When, out of sheer enthusiasm for the Old People’s Treat Movement, he has allowed his own business to slide. He is the poorer for it, but the community has benefited correspondingly.

Some day, perhaps, he will reap reward for his zeal and kindness.

The Old Folk’s Treat Committee have already accorded him their “.Well done,” and more satisfaction–indeed the only satisfaction he ‘desires—will come his way when the old people go to Wentworth Woodhouse for a day’s enjoyment on Thursday, July 12
