Broomhill Man’s Move

Lewis Barber, the 21-year-old Broomhill goalkeeper went two seasons ago to Halifax, got his place in the Halifax senior team last season and gained a reputation as one of the finest keepers in the Northern Section of the Third Division of the football league.

Now he has been engaged by Manchester City. Halifax parted with him reluctantly but financial stringency made the transfer necessary.

The fee is reported to be the highest ever received by Halifax.
