Away Win For Mitchell Main.
Brodsworth 79 Mitchell Main 163 for 6 dec
Mitchell Main scored a good win at Brodsworth, dismissing the home side for 79, after declaring at 163 for 6. J. Senior hit five fours and a six in his 62, and took 3 wickets for 19, and R. Cooling made 32.
Swinton’s Moderate Score.
Rotherham 129 for 5 Swinton 76 for 5
Swinton’s visit to Clifton Lane on Saturday was inconclusive, though Rotherham had rather the better of the game. Rotherham scored 129 for 5 (G Root 50 not out, L Smelt 23), and Swinton had made 76 for 5 when stumps were drawn.
G. Barnett (26) and W. B. Broadhead (37) were the chief scorers for Swinton. For Rotherham, Morton had 3 for 27 and Root 2 for 13.
Hickleton Too Sound For Denaby.
Denaby & Cadeby 57 Hickleton 58 for 6
Hickleton defeated Denaby by four wickets before a fair crowd on Saturday, proceeds being for the gman’s benefit.
Denaby failed before the Hickleton bowling, and were all out for 57. J.,Threlfell opened the bowling in place of W. Lockwood who is ill, and bowled well to take 4 for 25, and at the other end J. Riley bowled with his usual consistency, taking 5 for 20. F. Roberts (10), E. Robinson (7). J. Wardle (7), and G. Allen (7 not out), scored best for Denaby.
Hickleton lost A. Turner (3) at 19 and were 38 for 2. (J Threlfell 14). H. Riley was run out for 20 at 49. J. Wardle, who had bowled well, took 3 wickets at this stage for one run, Hickleton standing at 52 for 6. F. Teasdale and J. Hutchinson reached 59 without -further loss. J. Wardle took 4 for 19.
