Accident at Wombwell Main Colliery
Yesterday a pony driver named Samson Ellis, aged about 15, and living with his parents in Park Street Wombwell, sustained a fracture of the thigh whilst following his work at Wombwell Main colliery.
The pony he was driving fell down, and in attempting to rise reared backwards onto Ellis and crushed him to the ground.
He was attended to by Doctor Miller, who set the broken limb at the boy’s home.
