A Tiny Rate Saver
During their visit to Wombwell on Saturday, the members of the North-Eastern district of the sanitary inspector’s Institute submitted to microscopic inspection a friend of theirs known as “spring tail” – achtorutus viaticus, to give it its full title, – a natural scavenger who annually save ratepayers big sums of money by keeping the filters clean.
Mr David Robinson (holding the microscope in the picture) is the engineer at the Wombwell Sewage Works, has taken a great deal of interest in the culture of this valuable little health worker.
