8,000 Patrons

Wombwell Thespians Amateur Dramatic Society report that they played to more than 8,000 people last season.

Congratulations on a fine achievement. This is an all-round record for the society, whose gamble in taking the Large Empire Cinema at Wombwell for their more ambitious productions has obviously paid big dividends

The Thespians have wisely relied on popular box-office successes for their opening excursions at the cinema, and consequently they have made certain of their wider public.

Perhaps they might now essay a production of more serious appeal and greater intrinsic value.
