Private Hilton, 16 Princes Street, Wombwell, was killed in action in France on August 17, after 3 1/2 years service.
He leaves a widow and one child.
His officer writes: “We are all sorry to lose and, more sorry than we can say, for he was a good and faithful soldier, and did his duty nobly and well.”
