Presentation

Expressing their good wishes on his retirement from the post of Enquiry Officer for the West Riding Education Department at Wombwell, teachers of Wombwell and the staff of the Divisional Education Office at Swinton have presented to Mr. W. H. Barrett a Westminster chiming clock suitably inscribed and a folding table.

Mr. Barrett relinquished the duties at the end of last July and has been succeeded by Mr. W. J. Yorke, whose appointment was reported in the “Times” last week.

Mr. Barrett has held the post for 27 years. Lately his health has been far from satisfactory and for that reason the presentation was made at his home in Hough Lane, Wombwell.

There were present Mr. C. Ellison (Divisional Clerk), Mr. J. Carroll (senior assistant),Mr. G. Siddall, an inquiry officer, and his wife who made the presentation, together with Mr. W. J. Yorke.

Mrs. Barrett., was included in the expressions of appreciation to which Barrett suitably responded.
