Note From Crewe.

We have received a cheery note from Jimmy Dyer, the former Wombwell trainer who is now with Crewe. Dyer left Wombwell just before the start of this season and appears to be now happily settled.

The directors at Crewe, he says, are all good sports and have left nothing undone to make him comfortable. And he has had the good fortune to fall among old friends. His only regret is that he did not join up with Crewe years ago when he had the opportunity.

He wants now a regular supply of this paper. As he has been engrossed in local football for so many years that is understandable.

Dyer worked his way up the scale of football from junior to first-class player, and after playing for Barnsley, Manchester City, West Ham and other leading clubs, turned to football management. He did much toward recreating the Wombwell club.
