Eight For Sykes.

Piccadilly collapsed on their own ground on Saturday before the bowling of Eric Sykes (picture), the young Sunday School league product, whom Wombwell introduced to the South Yorkshire League game late in the 1923 season.

He had only, 14 runs hit off 14 overs during which he took 8 wickets. Nixon and H Willoughby (3 for 14) threatened to run through the Wombwell side till Robinson arrived.
