The “Times” In China.

Here is another little group of readers of the “Mexborough and Swinton Times” out on the rim of our far-flung Empire.

In the middle is Private W. Bates, of Low Valley, Wombwell, buried in the last copy received at Wai-Hai-Wei, in Northern China.

On his right and left are a couple of lads from Sheffield.

Private Bates is serving with the “B” Company, 1st Bedford and Herts Regiment. He says he and all his family are regular readers, and he would not for anything miss a single number.
