Wombwell Stable Fire

The Wombwell N.F.S. were assisted by the Barnslev N.F.S. last night at a fire in a garden at the rear of Prospect Terrace. Wombwell.

A shed used stable by Mr. F Bowley was destroyed and half dozen fowls perished, but the pony kept in the stable was not in the building at the time.

N.F.S. Rescues Cat

A fire tender with a 35 feet extending ladder was sent by Barnsley N.F.S. five miles to Wombwell to rescue a cat from the top of telegraph pole In Hough Lane.

The cat belongs to Mr. John Donald, of the Cash Stores. Wombwell.
