Four Generations at Wombwell

The Baby in This Picture has:

Two great grandmothers               ( Mrs Boldy and Mrs Godfrey, 102, Wath Road, Wombwell)

Two grandfathers                         (Mr T Harvey, 41 Brampton Rd, Wombwell, and Mr AH Burrows, 26 Melton Ave, Brampton)

Two grandmothers                         ( Mrs Harvey and Mrs Burrows)

The baby is Anthea Dilkes, daughter of Mr and Mrs Stanley Dilkes, 9 Carnley St, West Melton. She was born in June 26, 1937, the birthday of two uncles, one of whom was 17 on that day, and the other 34 on that day.

In the picture are four generation, Mrs Betty Godfrey, 102 Wath Rd, Wombwell (great-grandmother); Mrs Thomas Harvey 41, Brampton Road, Wombwell (grandmother); Mrs Stanley Dilkes (mother) and little Anthea.

As they are all very hale and hearty, Anthea may be one of five generations yet. She is lucky also in that she is a “Coronation” baby.
