A Choir of 2000 Children

Over 2000 children paraded the streets of Wombwell yesterday for the annual Sunday school “sing,” which was held in a field off Park Street.

The Queen was Doreen Martin (30), daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Morton, 110 Park Street Wombwell and granddaughter of Mr John Lisle, who has been a Sunday School superintendent at Wombwell for over 50 years.
