Wombwell Local Board Election

The votes given in the election for members to the Wombwell Local Board recounted yesterday at the board’s offices, Park Street, Wombwell and the returning officer (Mr Boocock) declared the result to be as follows:

W Gray, collier manager                                          1,251

J Mitchell, civil and mining engineer                         1,145

B Hobson, farmer                                                   1,067

G Taylor, boot and shoe dealer                                  860

JH Whitehead, builder                                              779

Mr Whitehead is the unsuccessful candidate. The first three were retiring members, and Mr Taylor takes the place of the late Mr Charlesworth.
