Grandsons in Uniform


Mr. J. T. Woodall, 39, Park Street, Wombwell, a member of the Committee of Wombwell W.M.C., and of the Wombwell O.P.T. Committee is proud of his grandsons; Pilot Officer Jack Anstess (24, son of Mrs. Margaret Annice Harkess, Mansfield, and the late Mr. Arthur Anstess, and Second-Lieut. Fred Milburn (22) son of Mrs. Catherine Milburn and the late Mr. Tom Milburn.

Pilot Officer Anstess joined the R.A.F. from Wath Grammar School at the age of 15.

Lieut. Milburn is also an old boy of Wath Grammar School.  After working in the offices at Manvers Main for a time he went into Barnsley Borough Police Force in which is uncle, Mr. Arthur Milburn, is serving.  He joined up in 1942 and is with the India Command.
