Wombwell Swimmer Abroad

Pte. Charles Palmer, R.A.O.C. (25), son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Palmer, of 46, Goodyear Crescent, Wombwell, is now serving in the Middle East.

He is an old boy of John Street Council School, Wombwell, and before joining up in June, 1940, was a gasfitter at Wombwell Gasworks, where his father is foreman.

He was formerly prominent in swimming circles at Wombwell. Pte. Palmer’s brother, Oswald is in Africa. Their father served in France in the last war.
