Wedding – Powell – Greaves.

At Darfield Parish Church on Monday the wedding took place of Miss Edna Powell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Powell. Snape Hill Road, Darfield, and Mr. Charles Greaves, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. Greaves, Marsh Street, Wombwell.

The bride was given away by her father and wore ivory satin with bishop sleeves and pearl trimmings, and her long net veil was surmounted by a Juliet cap. She carried crimson roses and white heather.

A page, Derek Sokell, wore a satin Kate Greenaway suit and walked with two little maids, Betty Wilson and Doreen Powell, wearing Victorian gowns of shell pink satin and lace Dutch caps with pink streamers. Both carried Victorian posies of pink and white carnations. The three elder bridesmaids, Misses V. Powell. I. Powell and S. Winder wore champagne satin with matching coatees, halo hats of champagne felt with bandeaux of flowers. They carried lemon and white tulips.

The best man and groomsman were Messrs. G. Wroe and G. Vincent.

Mr. and Mrs. Powell entertained their guests at the British Legion headquarters.
