Child Scalded to Death at Wombwell

On Tuesday morning a little boy named Edwin Stenton, whose parent reside at Wombwell Main, died from the effects of scalds.

It seems that is child came with its mother on Saturday to Wombwell, and before returning they visited at a friend’s hoes, in George Street. A bucket tall of hot water was standing on the hearth and the little fellow walked backward and fell into it, receiving severe scalds, from the effects of which he died as stated.

An inquest was held on Wednesday, ands verdict of “Accidental death” was returned.
