Re Union of Wombwell Brothers

By sheer accident two Wombwell brothers met in India, the first time they had seen each other for several years.

They are Sgt. Roy Popple (28), and Gunner Charles Popple (22), sons of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Popple, of 5. Hall Street Wombwell.

This chance meeting was at Deccan. Roy, who previously worked at Cortonwood Colliery, has been in India nearly 7 years and has just signed on for another four years.

Charles joined up for the present war, and previously been employed as a plasterer when a Barnsley firm.

The brothers expressed their delight in an unexpected reunion in their letters home.
