Miss Constance Elizabeth Taylor, sixth daughter of Mr. Adam Taylor, Holbeach House, Barnsley Road. Wombwell, was married at Wombwell Parish Church on Saturday to 2nd. Lieut. Eric William Cessford, Royal Artillery, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cessford, of 104 Seventh Street, Borden. Co. Durham.
Bride and bridegroom have been associated in the teaching profession.
The bride was given away by her father. She wore a pale blue suit with a spray of flowers in the coat, and burgundy accessories. The wedding was of a quiet character and there were no bridesmaids. The best man was Mr. Gordon Dobson, of Harwich, a college friend of the bridegroom.
The groomsmen were Messrs. Ralph and Frank Taylor, brothers of the bride.
After the wedding the guests assembled for lunch at the Three Cranes Hotel, Barnsley. The bride was educated at King’s Road Council School, Wombwell, and Barnsley Girls’ High School. She entered the teaching profession and up to last summer was on the staff of the Royal Institute for the Deaf at Friargate. Derby. She left there to join the Deaf Department at Birmingham under the Birmingham Education Authority, and is at present on duty at an evacuation centre. Before joining the Forces twelve months ago the bridegroom was also on the staff of the Royal Institute for the Deaf at Derby.
The couple are honeymooning in Devon.
