Ship Lost—” Nothing Known of Crew”

Mr. and Mrs. A. Robinson, of High Street, Wombwell, have been informed that the ship on which their son, Radio Officer Kenneth Robinson (21) was serving, , serving , has been lost and “nothing is known the crew.”

Radio Officer K. Robinson has made arrangements, to be married at Hessle shortly, to a Hull girl, and the banns have already been read at Wombwell Parish Church. His fiancee visited Wombwell to discuss plans for the wedding the day before the news was received.

Radio Officer Robinson joined the Mercantile Marine early in the war. Not long ago his ship was torpedoed and he was officially commended for his gallantry in remaining aboard to the last sending out signals.
