Letters Wanted
Paddy Woolley, a Jump boy serving in Iceland, writes to us asking us to pass on his good wishes to his pals.
He says he is getting on all right though the lads found the country a bit trying at first. The scenery he votes first class but the weather is described as very changeable.
Driver Woolley says he looks forward to his “South Yorkshire Times” more than ever now. ” You find the real value of it when you are far from home,” he writes. ” It is grand to get the home news.”
A former Cortonwood colliery employee. Driver Woolley played football for Parkhill and Station Lane. He appeals for letters and these can be re-directed from this office but must be stamped by the senders.
