Awaiting News of Wombwell Curate

Accompanying the Oxford Union which left England for Palestine at the end of July was the Rev. J.E. Broadbent, a Wombwell curate.

Since the party left, nothing has been heard from them, and it is feared that they may be near the scene of hostilities between the Jews and Arabs.

Keen anxiety for Mr. Broadbent’s welfare is felt in Wombwell, as the Rector, Canon S. U. Smith, has had no message from him; neither, presumably, have his parents who live in Sheffield.

The Rev. J. E. Broadbent came to Wombwell early this year, and has recently had .charge of St. Mary’s Mission Church, Broomhill.
